You stand at the reception desk and answer a phone call at the same time. In the background, you prepare the files for the next appointment. After a quick chat with the doctor, you measure blood pressure and get the necessary instruments ready.
- You welcome patients and organise their appointments carefully.
- You carry out basic medical checks like blood pressure measurements and ECGs.
- You assist doctors with minor procedures and treatments.
- You prepare laboratory samples and carry out simple chemical analyses.
- You write prescriptions and keep patient records up to date in line with data protection rules.
- You sterilise medical tools and check that the equipment works properly.
- You handle administrative tasks like invoicing and ordering supplies.
Working conditions
You mainly work in private or group practices, or in outpatient clinics of hospitals. Depending on the practice profile, you take on tasks in the consultation room, laboratory, or radiology department.
