You receive damaged car bodies and analyse the damage carefully. Using special tools and great manual skill, you restore the original shape. You learn the trade through a 4-year dual apprenticeship with weekly school days at a body repair company.

After initial training, you can pursue a federal professional certificate or a higher specialist exam. Studying vehicle engineering at a university of applied sciences is also possible.

You stand at the workbench and check a bent door panel for cracks and dents. Using pulling and pushing techniques, you slowly work the metal back into its original shape.
