What the work feels like

Typical day

You stand in front of a broken-down tractor. You check the electrical wiring with diagnostic tools and replace defective valves. Afterwards, you explain to the farmer how to maintain the equipment correctly in the future.

  • You analyse faults on agricultural equipment and use special diagnostic tools for this.
  • You dismantle machines, check worn parts and replace them correctly.
  • You maintain diesel and petrol engines as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • You advise customers on selecting and adapting machines.
  • You carry out welding work and process metals and plastics.

Working conditions

You work in agricultural machinery workshops or drive directly to farms. There you repair large equipment that cannot be transported.
