What the work feels like
Typical day
You stand at the receiving station and check incoming deliveries for quality and contaminants. You then operate presses and screening plants to separate the materials cleanly and prepare them for resale
- You check incoming recyclable deliveries for quality and contaminants
- You separate clean material from dirty material and remove foreign objects
- You operate hydraulic presses and shredders to process the material
- You manage material inventory with digital IT systems and controllers
- You load recyclable materials onto vehicles with forklifts and cranes
- You maintain machines and carry out simple repairs yourself
- You issue delivery notes and record fees in the system
Working conditions
You work in large recycling halls or outdoors in all weather conditions. The working environment is often noisy, so you always wear protective equipment
