You prepare subfloors, advise clients on material choices, and install parquet and textile flooring correctly.
As a Boden-Parkettleger/in EFZ, you shape rooms with the right subfloor. You check existing stocks, calculate material quantities, and advise clients on colour and pattern choices. After careful preparation, you lay parquet, carpet, or elastic coverings. You focus on precise seams and clean workmanship. Your craft ensures durable and aesthetic floors.

The training is a 3-year apprenticeship with weekly classes at a vocational school.

Career changers can often complete a shortened apprenticeship in the other specialism. Further training leads to a federal vocational certificate or higher specialist schools.

You kneel on the bare floor, check the subfloor's evenness, and carefully roll out a new carpet covering. You use a roller to smooth the strips until the joint fits perfectly.
You work in new buildings, during renovations, or in private homes. Your workplaces are usually specialist shops, interior decoration companies, or construction sites.
