  • Other EFZ, 5 years of activity in the technical service of cable car maintenance, and passed basic exam or equivalent exam
  • Diplom einer Höheren Fachprüfung, Diplom als Techniker/in HF or a Bachelor in Engineering in the mentioned professional groups, 2 years of professional experience in the technical service of cable car maintenance, and passed basic exam or equivalent exam
  • Completion of the course for Berufsbildner/in

What the work feels like

Typical day

You stand at the control center and check the cable car data for deviations. If needed, you go to the workshop to maintain mechanical parts or adjust electronic sensors.

  • You continuously monitor the rail systems and spot technical deviations early.
  • You maintain and install mechanical parts and electronic sensors on the systems.
  • You check brakes and cables according to strict safety rules for passenger operations.
  • You lead your team and also support trainees in daily work.
  • You plan work processes and regularly organize emergency drills.
  • You take independent responsibility for restarting operations after a breakdown.

Working conditions

You work in offices, workshops, and directly along the cable car routes. Your workplace is mainly with cable car companies in tourist mountain regions.
