You control the combustion operation and monitor energy production

01 · Overview
You manage the entire combustion process, monitor emissions and energy production during shift work
As a Maschinist/in thermische Kehrichtverwertung, you take responsibility for the ongoing combustion operation. At your control stations, you watch the combustion processes on screen and ensure the furnace runs steadily. Regular inspection rounds and monitoring emissions as well as heat and power production are part of your daily routine. You work closely with the shift supervisor to ensure safe and efficient waste treatment.

You stand in front of the control screens and constantly check the combustion temperature and emission values. In between, you walk around the plant site to check that the equipment is operating correctly.
You usually work in a thermal waste incineration plant or a waste management facility. Your workplace includes the control centre and the technical halls of the plant.
