What the work feels like

Typical day

You stand at the rear of the vehicle and check the brake pads for wear. Then you document the parts found and prepare the workshop for the next customer.

  • You check oil, coolant, and brake fluids, and top them up as needed.
  • You carefully check the condition of tyres, wheels, and the steering.
  • You inspect batteries and install generators and starters according to instructions.
  • You thoroughly clean the engine, chassis, and the vehicle interior.
  • You replace worn parts like brake pads, and swap wheels and valves.
  • You help install the gearbox, clutch, and drive shaft.
  • You document completed work and note the spare parts used.
  • You order needed spare parts and dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly way.

Working conditions

You work in garages, at brand dealerships, or in branches of major manufacturers. Your workplace is the workshop, where you work as part of a team.
