03 · Pathway
The 2-year apprenticeship teaches the basics of baking and pastry work at the vocational school and in practice.
Bäcker/in-Konditor/in-Confiseur/in EBA
A lateral entry is often possible via a shortened basic qualification as Bäcker/in-Konditor/in-Confiseur/in EFZ. After that, the same further training paths open up as for graduates of the EFZ apprenticeship.

You portion fresh fruit for a layered cake. You spread cream on the bases. Then you place the trays in the oven and check the baking temperature.
You work in bakeries, pastry shops, confiseries, or industrial production facilities in the baked goods and confectionery industry. You also often find work in hospitals, care homes, or hotels and restaurants.
