01 · Overview
You cut, dye and style hair, advise customers and ensure hygiene in the salon.
As Coiffeur/-euse EBA, you combine manual skill with a creative eye. In your salon, you create individual hairstyles, advise on hair care and ensure a hygienic environment. The job requires a lot of stamina for standing and enjoyment of direct contact with people. With the right training, you start directly in a creative and customer-focused daily routine.

03 · Pathway
The training lasts two years and takes place in a hairdressing shop, supplemented by one day of school per week.
Coiffeur/-euse EBA
A lateral entry or advanced training is often possible by completing a shortened apprenticeship as Coiffeur/-euse EFZ.

You stand at the washbasin, gently massage the scalp and discuss the desired colour with the customer. Then you cut precisely with scissors and blow-dry the strands until the hairstyle looks right.
You usually work in small hairdressing shops or large salons at train stations, airports and shopping centres. The work is done in a team, and you are often on your feet for long periods.
