You maintain, repair and sell bicycles and e-bikes, and advise customers directly.
As a bicycle mechanic, you combine technical craftsmanship with a passion for two-wheelers. In your workshop, you analyse mechanical and electronic problems, replace parts and restore the safety of every bike. You personally advise customers on maintenance, repairs and optimal riding position. Your expertise ensures not only mobility, but also the joy of cycling in everyday life.

The training takes place over three years of apprenticeship with weekly vocational school attendance and an integrated vocational baccalaureate option.

Lateral entry is possible, for example through a shortened apprenticeship as a motorcycle mechanic or through related further training courses in vehicle technology.

You stand at the workbench and check a customer's bicycle gear, while simultaneously adjusting the brakes and calculating the next repair costs.
You usually work alone or in a small team in bicycle workshops and sales rooms. Your working hours follow the shop opening times and extend in summer.
