What the work feels like
Typical day
You stand at the work site and check the condition of an underground pipe with a remote-controlled camera. You then clean the pipe with high-pressure nozzles and document the findings in a report.
- You carefully read through orders and plan the necessary steps.
- You create sketches and calculate the volume of the systems to be cleaned.
- You clean pipes and structures with spears, nozzles or hoses.
- You pump off residues and dispose of them correctly according to regulations.
- You inspect drainage systems with robots and detect damage early.
- You repair defective parts and suggest targeted repair measures.
- You maintain workplace safety and protect water bodies from pollution.
Working conditions
You work in small and medium-sized channel operations, at municipal construction offices or at wastewater treatment plants. Your area of operation includes both indoor rooms and underground channels and open spaces.
