What the work feels like

Typical day

You stand at your sewing station and set up the machine for a new fabric. As the needle moves up and down quickly, you constantly check the seam quality and iron the finished parts flat.

  • You prepare different fabrics and sort the individual pattern pieces.
  • You operate universal sewing machines and overlock machines for different seams.
  • You choose the matching thread and the correct presser foot.
  • You set the ironing system to the specified temperature and pressure.
  • You attach interfacings and sew the garments together.
  • You attach pockets, zippers, or belts to the garments.
  • You check the finished parts and iron them as a final step.
  • You keep your workspace safe and dispose of waste according to regulations.

Working conditions
