Prerequisites

  • Completion of vocational basic training as Fachmann/-frau Bewegungs- und Gesundheitsförderung and vocational practice: min. 3500 hours in min. 2 to max. 5 years in the Fitness- und Gesundheitstraining track, or 500 hours of guided course units in the Körper- und Bewegungsschulung track
  • Completion of another vocational basic training at EFZ-Niveau or gymnasiale Maturität and vocational practice: min. 5000 hours in min. 2.5 to max. 5 years in the Fitness- und Gesundheitstraining track, or 750 hours of guided course units in the Körper- und Bewegungsschulung track
  • Module completions or equivalence certificates
  • Valid BLS (CPR) certificate at the time of the exam

Typical day

You stand in the training room and gently correct a client's posture on a weight machine. At the same time, you plan the next group class and check the safety of the equipment

  • You create individual lesson plans for different age groups and skill levels
  • You lead machine-based strength and endurance training with expert guidance
  • You monitor posture and continuously correct movement patterns
  • You adjust the training load exactly to match health conditions
  • You conduct relaxation techniques and specific back gymnastics classes
  • You document your clients' progress and adjust their goals

You work in fitness and wellness centres, hotels, or senior homes. Many also run their own classes in community centres or large companies
